I was filming in the Western Ghats of India with @KalyanVarma. It was cold, windy and damp - we were on the trail of the cloud goat, the Nilghiri tahr. They are the only goat native to the tropics and they thrive on the rich grasslands high up in Eravikulam National Park. As we tried to keep our cameras dry this female appeared from the mist followed closely by her kid, they walked to within just a few metres of us and calmly settled down into the grass. Despite almost being wiped out by colonial hunting these rare animals are very trusting of humans. Today they are protected and their numbers have crept back from 100 to over 3000 living in the wild. #BBCEarth #EarthOnLocation #Goat #Bovine #India #Eravikulam
