I was filming on the summit of Mount Kinabalu, the highest peak in Borneo. To many local people it’s known as the revered abode of the dead, believed to be where their ancestors spirits reside. Cameraman Richard Kirby and I had spent almost two weeks on the mountain, climbing an hour each morning from camp in the hope of a clear sunrise. Each day the summit was shrouded in mist with only fleeting glimpses of the spectacular landscape. This particular morning was different. We quickly jumped to action, setting up as many cameras as we could, to capture the sunrise as seen from the roof of Borneo. #BBCEarth #EarthOnLocation #Borneo #Kinabalu #Mountain #Timelapse #Crew #Filming
I was storm chasing in Northern Australia... To film a storm you have to get ahead of it! So using radar we monitored an area of over a million square kilometres, four times bigger than the UK. In these tough offroad vehicles, we travelled huge distances in a bid to get to the right spot at the right time. It was like filming wildlife. Storms have a mind of their own, and wondereing where they will take us, and what they will do, is something that made the chase exhilirating, and often electrifying. #BCBEarth #EarthOnLocation #Australia #Storm #Chasing #Weather #Clouds
