I was filming for #BBCEarth with @mpg66 in the Pantanal wetland, Brazil. We had been following a group of giant otters, when we looked up to see the transfixed eyes of a Jaguar staring out from the shade - directly at us. It’s one of the few times that I’ve looked an animal in the eye knowing that I was the potential prey. #BBC #EarthOnLocation #Pantanal #Brazil #Jaguar #BigCat #Deadly #Stare #Endangered #Wildlife #Nature
I was filming in India. Daroji Sanctuary is home to the worlds highest density of Sloth bears. I joined local rangers who smear honey on rocks to study the bear population. Sloth Bears have really poor eye sight and can see little further than 10 metres, so as long as we remained still and silent we would be able to observe the bears. Occasionally the bear would surface from its sticky honey treat, raising his nose and opening his mouth like a panting dog. He was tasting the air and I wondered if he could detect the strangers in his midst. If he could then he must have decided that he had more pressing matters to attend to and chowed back down. #BBCEarth #EarthOnLocation #Bear #Sloth #JungleBook #Baloo #Conservation #Wildlife #India
I was filming in Southern India... it was getting dark and we were heading back to camp when three elephants blocked the road. Rather than startle them we switched off the engine and waited... They moved closer and closer. The tiny calf was sandwiched between the colossal flanks of the two adults and it seemed pretty carefree as it swung its trunk around, occasionally resting its head against the side of one of its guardians. It was a real privilege to see such intimacy. As they exchanged caresses, their trunks touching and stroking each other. We were lost in the moment. #EarthOnLocation #BBCEarth #EarthCapture #Elephant #India #Baby #Wildlife
