The Pantanal, Brazil. Five hours by boat from the nearest tourist lodge, and on the edge of the Matagrossense national park, stands a single, old wooden hut. This is home to Vicente, aged 68. He is the last true Guató, ‘canoe people’ - an indigenous hunter/gatherer group that have lived in the Pantanal for centuries. In 2014 I visited Vicente to find out what his life is like in the remote heart of this vast wilderness. His face speaks volumes of a life in the wild and a sincere appreciation for the place he calls home. #BBC #EarthOnLocation #Pantanal #Brazil #Indigenous #People http://www.ironammonite.com/2014/11/the-last-guato-canoe-people-of-pantanal.html
